another fine example for sportive behaviour...

Today was one of the first games I played on gravon since my return.
Unfortunatly I came accross a fine example for Ace Rimmer's Blacklist.
I played against Grant, the game was balanced quite to the end he was one lieutenant ahead with no miner and just one seargent wihile I had three of them. We both had one colonel, my flag was bombed in, 'till that moment he only removed one bomb, while his flag could not possibly be bombed in.
To keep a long story short at a certain point he started chasing my lieutenant without having the chance to get him.Nevertheless he continued about 5 minutes the chase that piece. the following dialog started right at that point:

I'm not too disapointed about giving up but it really - when you are running out of time (game clock was disabled but at this point the game lasted for way more than 30 min.) and then come across such unsportive ,ignorant behaviour.
I for one won't play this bloke anymore, which is of course the simpliest solution, but I just wanted to vent my anger...

I have 2 points to make on this thread.

Firstly- chasing and time wasting should be eliminated. I think a moderator or admin.........should definately explain the rules to Grant.............either he is unaware that chasing is not allowed within the game.......or he is a total prick who should not be allowed on Gravon.
Chasing and timewasting.........are one of the most annoying things that an opponent can do to a player. It is both unsporting and against the rules.
He is a definate candidate for the "Hall of Shame"!

Secondly- Why refer to "Hit ler" and "Mousalini"?
I thought all these referances were being punnished? (like they should)

These referances by "Grant" to giovedi are neither pleasent, nor justified. Surely this type of referance is something "Grant" should either apoligise for OR recieve some sort of punishment.

See, I'm really gobsmacked about the frequent use of nazi-terms or words clearly associated with nazis on gravon.

First an american with bad education calling me subhuman flilfth now an apparently non-german refering to two dictators from ww2.
I once thought all nazi's would be living in germany but the only bad experience(s) I had so far took place here on gravon, both caused by non-german people.

Furthermore I agree with ace, there should be a rule against timewasting.
A lot of us (including poor giovedi) are grown man with a family-life that needs a lot of attention and care.
We should not be expected to waste our limited amount of time by argueing with halfwits who can obviously spend most of their time sitting in front of the screen and taking the piss just because they cannot stand to lose.

we have to split the posting in 2 parts.

1. the chasing
you cannot chase a piece forever - there is a 2 square rule and a more
square rule. if you cannot handle this the moves are legal and you cannot
claim a regular move of your opponent.

so there is no "time wasting" - if you dont have the time to play, just
dont enter a game or surrender or attack. in addition it was a unranked game.

about the nazi terms:
he dont call you a..., but using the names and bringing it up in this matter
will cause a banning. the problem: he is a unreg user.
but he is a german player and we will catch him - for sure. maybe it needs
some days, but it happends.
i promise you, his life will be hard at gravon from now on.
and no reg for this user in future.

Hi Stratego, running around in circles is possible and he clearly gave me the impression he would carry on with it forever.

I'm well aware about the fact, that some games do take longer than others and I'm always prepared that even a single game of stratego might take some time, but 53 minutes of total-playing time including at least 25 minutes of having a pointless most revolting discussion is way out of my time-limit.

About the nazi-terms:

Giocrybaby, were you referring to me as the one with the "bad education"? Exactly what is that? I don't know too many people who would be ignorant enough to question my educational level. For the record, I have a master's degree and come from a pedigree of two parents who were both very well educated. My father is a college professor with a PHD and my mother earned 2 master's degrees. Can you match that?

As far as the chasing goes, gravon has proper programming to limit it, precisely at the right time. Even a little bit of chasing can be a nuisance but they have done as much as they can with the programming. The chaser does get stopped effectively, so stop whining. Why not play registered players? They are far less likely to do this, since they are accountable for their actions.

You want to know what "education" is?
The term "education" is not about ones parents history, school-grades or master degrees. It's even not entirely about your apparently very good writing skills:
Its about how you use this whole background/education while interacting with other people. You, for example are using your writing skills to dominite and intiminate other less skilled, less educated people (you can of course include me to that list if you wish to), despite the fact that you could act different, a choice not everyone we encounter here on gravon has...

You may even be smart or educated enough to come up with an alternative to Einstein's theory of relativity this does not make a better man.
So the (still) remaining question that brought me up to mention the words you used on me again is are you educated enough to use these words on purpose or not. I assumed, in YOUR favour that you used this term against me due to a lack of education, which would be less worse than the alternative.

Even when one's really pissed off about something those words shouldnt slip out, but what's still worse is the fact that you are not man enough to apologise which would have been a fine way close that record and show some "true education"...

Based on your poor english language skills, I have strong reservations about believing your claims for the other languages that you mentioned. Let me point out some of your errors so that you may learn something about the language:

1st paragraph - ("all fluent" should be "all fluently") There should be a period not a comma, following this statement. The next sentence should begin with "My wife..........."

2nd paragraph - ".....ones parents" should be "one's parents" since "one's" is possessive. There isn't any need to put a hyphen in "school grades". "Its" should be "It's". ".dominate and intimidate" are spelled as so.

I won't continue any further than this since it is exhausting. When you can write a correct paragraph, you can begin to boast about your language skills. Until that time, you are merely the equivalent of a pot bellied drunk, hollering at a soccer stadium, that he is a world class player.

you cannot run i.e. around a lake forever, chasing a piece. all situation, which were at board are not allowed for a second time and the server checks this. (even 200 moves ago)

second: grant
grant gets a banning for 2 years. also no reg nick for lifetime.
there is no fun with any nazi terms here. this is a warning for all, who may
use this as a joke or an insulting.

third:
