thx for the good idea, but i think jerry is right. even if we close all eyes, in the end we must care for people, who are mentioned in a negative context. a free forum will be a desaster within a minute. we tried it and people abuse it.

but i will discuss the idea for a "free topic" forum. maybe we can upgrade the english speaking forum. of course not without rules, but free for any discussions and topics. the hole stratego threads are in english, no need for the english board anymore.

i am wondering, why some forum users are against a forum without insulting and a little more respect for all. in the end this is a board game forum with a lot of players from all over the world. reading insulting postings nearly every week and getting a lot of privat mails why we dont bann some of them, we must find a solution. in the end we must find the lowest common denominator for all users. this cannot be made without rules for all. the last year shows, that some use the forum in a normal way, others for their privat attacks or old stories only few can remember.
again and again we talked with the people, try to explain the red line here and hear a lot of critism, depending if we delete/bann or not.
someone is always unhappy.

if some miss the agressive style of some postings or the fights between users here, we can live pretty good with that. as art mentioned, create your own forum. good luck with that.
the bottom line is the forum will have better postings in future - for sure.

Better? LMAO! If boring and lifeless is better, then you are correct. If people cannot take a little criticism and sarcasm then they need to go hide from the real world and not face anybody.

This is your site, Stratego and it is your right to do what you think is best. However, if you really think that this forum is going to be better without my racy posts then you are severely delusioned. I think your approach should be more like, "I don't want personal attacks on this forum and since it is my site, this is the way it is going to be. If the forum suffers in some respects, that is my decision". Stating that the forum will be better is merely ridiculous. I am the life and death of this forum, whether or not you wish to admit it and whether or not you approve of the things that I write. The fact is this; the game site programming is terrific but the moderating could be a hell of a lot better in some respects. Killing the forum may remove some problems but it will also remove some life from the site. It is your right to do so but lets keep it real, huh?

if you want to go - do it, but shut the door quiet please and dont start crying. this isnt your style.
you always needed the public, so its the other way round: without the forum you are nothing. (sorry, but you want to keep it real.)
another mistake in your posting:

I think you mean:

…but this can happen if someone simmers with excitement.

I'm not crying at all, Strat man. It's your site, your decision, your right to do as you wish with it. I enjoy playing the game. Without the forum, I will still enjoy playing the game and that is better than nothing.
