just a first idea: please smaller your nice picture

your disclaimer will be send to new members.

"guest" postings are not longer possible. only registered nicks can post
new messages in the hole forum.

later the year we maybe change the hole nicks for the forum. i think in future you will have one name for gravon and forum and the forum is much closer at gravon then. we then have the same name at gravon and
at forum.

in the moment we give a last warning, if someone posts a gravon player in a negative context. (i deleted 3 postings today) if a user repeats such a posting he will be banned without any further warning.

this also happens, if someone uses indirect hints without mentioning the name. also if ironic postings are used to get the same effect.

topics with any hints to meta will be deleted.
topics with any sexuall, political or insulting context or words will be deleted.
topics from past (with no sence - only insulting) will be deleted.

some more and the new rules follow soon. you will find your ideas in it.

Can we speak of political stuff in the USA common board?

If you get into trouble, are you banned from Gravon, or the forum only?

I think having the same name on forum and gameboard is the best idea.

Also, the topic of Shihan's, that challenged Acerimmer to a game, was not talking anything about Meta. Jerry misunderstood it. I think you guys may want to have another read it before you take action in the future. All Shihan said was he wanted to play vs Acerimmer on Gravon and not at Meta for the challenge. What exactly was Jerry speaking of when he deleted the posting?

Also, sorry in advance, I just thought this would clear up some things now. Hope I do not get into any trouble for asking these questions.

there is no usa common board. political issues start with some jokes and
are much to dominat now. maybe you can smaller this activities. this is a board game forum.

this depends of the circumstances. some insultings causes a complete
banning.

did jerry delete something ? think not. so jerry was right and gives a good hint with the pm. i deleted a posting in that thread, but not shihans.

not for the questions, but for this sentence. its not funny to spend a lot
of time here, only because some users behave like kidis here. and this
again and again. its time to raise the level and some more respect to
others.

i think it's a good idea to bring these boring meta-gravon stories to an end.
BUT i think it's not good to prohibit the certain posts after a game about the opponent. when my opponent lottoed in a stupid way or when i caught his marsh with my spy in a great way i would like to write about that.

For one thing, I am no longer going to post up anything since there is a very good chance that I will be banned, if I do so. This forum without my contribution, is a boring disaster. I recall how many complaints there were when I went to meta after having most of my posts at gravon removed. I put in a lot of effort to write such posts and did not appreciate them being deleted. Why don't you take a look at the amount of views in my posts "ruben scrubbin' flops back to reality", "Sadistic's annual awards", etc.

In the past, when my posts were deleted, I stopped posting here and the forum became a disastrous bore. When I came back, I was allowed more freedom and the forum flourished once again. I am sure that some of my subjects whined and complained. Meanwhile, lots of others were joyously entertained by my well written, humorous posts. Gravon is your site and I respect that. If you want a dead forum, it is your choice but don't expect everybody to be pleased about it. Stratego is a form of competition and some of the forum animosity created better, more intense competition on the game field.

For your information, some players are leaving here and going to the other site as a result of this. How do I know? They told me firsthand.

That is about all I have to say about it. Bye, bye forum. I won't waste my talent writing here anymore but will still enjoy the gamefield!

there is no problem to write about these games. but there is no need to insult players in the postings. if you use an objective way of writing noone has a problem with this. all we try is to raise the level and to show some respect for others. i think there is no need to explain the ideas behind the new rules.

come on, 90% of the users dont like your postings. only few are funny and without insulting or bad language. also remember that you post in your first languarge. in the end you are one of the reasons, because we need new rules - its that easy.

this is not true - you get a warning to stop your insultings - not more freedom. also we must delete a lot of your postings, again and again.

feel free to use the forum in a normal way. we all like to read good postings. but i agree - to know one's limitations prevent from banning.

Hi Stratego perhaps a new folder can be created called "Anything Goes". In this new folder, people can post whatever they please. That way the General folder here can be used for subjects related to Stratego tactics and topics directly related to this game we all love so much. The rules you outlined are excellent and should apply to all folders with the one exception being the "Anything Goes" folder. People who have found some of the postings up until now offensive can simply avoid the "Anything Goes" folder and not have to worry about being offended. Others can go to the "Anything Goes" Folder if they don't mind more tacit subjects.

I find the that the typing of keywords typed like "Gayius Mareus" , gets somehow translated after the submission of the post to "boring forum"

Hello Tableplay,

We did have a some what Free Forum area here at Gravon in the Form of the Gravon vrs Meta posting section, This was a complete disaster, it broke all rules in censorship,personal attacks,conflicts in sites..and what ever else.

A free forum area is not a simple task to Moderate for one, and not really any thing, the Mods and I would really want to see here at Gravon.

Thankyou for yr suggestion my freind, as allways it's appreciatted.

Happy Birthday Art. I guess I will not be seeing you on gravon anytime soon. It has been fun though.

As for the forum, it is a private company that owns it, so there really is not any suppression of free speech arguments. LOL I had to throw in some stupid lawyer talk!!!

But, Art, Sadistic, TablePlay, Skywalker, others, I understand where you are coming from. Hope to see you guys in the game room. I think I am also retiring from the forum as well. See you guys on the field perhaps.
