I expected it to be very slow on Gravon being a Monday night and all. Snow was forecast, but it wasn’t midwest typical weather so far this month. 30 days of 40-50 degree weather rain and no snow with no sign of below zero weather to come. Something was awry. Something had to give. Something needed to shake. The 2005 gravon year ended with optimism entering a new ratings period. I held off at first hitting the ground with unranked games and the usual 0-3 start versus gpet0 to get the cobwebs off. Then 2 over unbiasedbob. Then the losing streak began and I was in a rut. So I get online tonight to earn some respect back and maropoly was the appetizer I needed. That was a good midnight snack, but I was still hungry for more.
Turned into a not so boring night after that game, suddenly skywalker, Ogetarts, esquire and Sadistic were all online,. I joined a room to see tableplay get a loss to a raccoon. Who let that dawg out, I thought . The racoon didn’t rematch and just tore off to the Sadistic solo room to stare at him for awhile. He didn’t want to tussle, just to irritate, like when they are out in the backyard eating your garbage. To fend off any future MF posts that Stratego would put to a kaputt, I invited him to a room. Well at first I had to witness the usual bruhaha about maternal insults yadda yadda yadda. The game started slowly cause I had to keep the racoon from fighting the gallery, keep his black eyes focused. Well I found his marshall and ran my general down to his other side and he forced me into a rule of 5’s but gave me no choice but to munch 4 of his pieces. Thank you kindly. I let his remaining pieces attack my bombs, cause I certainly didn’t want to sink myself into having to defend against a racoon. After all the trick is to just put empty pepsi cans near the garbage and they’re drawn to the scent. But the cans I laid out were loaded with TNT, claiming the lives of his colonel, general and marshall. Honestly he had quit much earlier but racoons are escape artists and he held on in vain for a tad.
We wished each other fond farewell. He said he’d go back to Tardoforge to tell the leader that Art said “ take your free membership and place it forcefully in the place where solar light does not normally shine”. I am content I beat him squarely. I do not expect the wins to continue against the other gravoners. Whether it be french fries, sauerkraut or hotdogs the competition is fierce over here. It was nice to entertain the crowd, even if only one amongst them took great pleasure in the stomping.

I confess to sleeping quite well after witnessing Art's shellacking of the mountain dwelling vermin that wandered into our city last night. In fact, I had concerns before the invasive incident took place. Was Art fit to be cruel and efficient when he needed to be? Could he be heartless enough to protect his family in the face of this rabid simpleton's attack? I had my doubts. While Art is obviously one of strong character, his skills in stratego are questionable, particulary compared to all time greats like myself and Esquire. Yet, it was Art who heard the rustling that was coming from the garbage cans outside and it was he who bravely jumped outside to take care of the problem. What ensued was one of the most heroic feats that I have seen on gravon. I cannot explain why, gravonians and lets be realistic; a simple minded, stumbling raccoon is hardly the most powerful beast in the jungle. Despite these facts, we cannot dismiss the brutal greatness that Art displayed last night.

Was it a close game, Sadistic? It was close in the beginning until the dipshitted raccoon chased and backed Art up to his own nest, and left Art no choice but to swing wildly. In the process, the puny raccoon transformed Art into a veritable, berserk Silverback Gorilla who, in the process of escaping, cleaned up the coon's nest and left only a battered ego accompanied by the sorrow of hopelessness. As I laughed joyfully at witnessing such profound stupidity, Art already began phase 2 of his termination. It only got uglier and he pounded that sickly vermin into complete oblivion. In the end, the morally depraved pest was completely humiliated, while Art had found himself in the lap of celebrity status, and deservedly so. It is only appropriate that Art receives the accolades suitable for his heroic extermination. If this continues, I cannot imagine that Art will not win an award at this year's annual awards show. Bravo, Art!! Lets just hope that the vermin is not so stupid that he returns for yet another thorough a$$ whipping.

Yes.....

Good game Art. You played well, even though it required a lot of luck on your little lotto spree. However, I don't mind and I offer you congratulations.

Lol, what a pitiful attempt to project yourself as the "nice guy". Did you learn that from xxx ? xxx, you drove Art into having no choice but lottoing since you trapped his general with your marshall in the "back and forth" rule. You exposed your complete lack of skill by forcing him into your valuable pieces and giving him no choice but to take all of them. LMAO!!! Oh man, did I love that!! You can probably get away with such poor play over there.

Sadistic you and I get on well mostly and share dislikes for the same 2 'old timers' at Meta. HOWEVER, Rocky is one hell of a guy and stratego player (I know you have your history so I will leave it at that) but to imply that one of the most popular guys on Meta is anything other than a nice guy is just wrong.

Art.....if you had played at Meta and knew Rocky, you wouldn't have posted in the way you just did. Please don't brand all Meta players the same and make your OWN opinions on people. Sadistic is right regarding a couple of the players there (that are universally disliked) but Rocky is a smashing guy who over a period of time would be a 1450/1500 player here at Gravon - believe me.

Rocky, great to see you here also mate - we need to catch up for a game at either site

UK_Dagonet, you should think twice about telling me what my opinion of somebody should be. If your mother died recently and some "nice guy" knew about it and exploited it by saying, "So, how is your mother rotting in the ground?", do you still think you would have a good opinion of him? If you helped this same person learn how to play stratego when he could not even win a single game, by giving him setups, strategies, etc. and some time later he was told several lies about you, believed them in complete foolishness and then began putting up posts insulting and derogating you, would you respect him? Would he still be your friend? There are things called integrity, loyalty, decency and this sob hasn't any of them. He is not a trouble maker in most situations. He was merely manipulated by a much more cunning person, Commish. Yet he did not handle it the right way. To this day, he still believes that I used aliases to ambush him when I never would do something like that to a friend. There was an occasion that I recall when I walked into the computer room of my house and saw my wife playing him with an alias. I was not happy about it and asked her if she told him that it was she. She replied, "no". Like I said, I was not happy about her doing that, but it was not I who was playing. I am not an underhanded person and I would never do something like that. When raccoon was told stories about me, he should have asked me first before assuming that they were true. This is something that is called respect and friendship. He also should have never said anything about my mother. If you want a friend like this, be my guest but don't try to tell me who is a good person and who is not. I can decide that for myself.

post the "way I did" what does that mean UK? There's no insults there unless you're an animal rights activist. I welcome RR to come over here and play, they'll all call it their only home one day. I only have a beef with their leader who stole his nick off the title of a tv show. Talk about originality. Are the pieces over there still 1 centimeter in height?
Just kidding.
Its just an internet board.
Where has Ace been?
Is UK from GB?
Does he play late at night?
is UL his game?
