Leto has lottoed in just about every game against me with do or die consequences. He has gotten lucky on several of those occasions and it was most annoying to outplay him every game only to have him get lucky and take the wins. He won the award because he guesses correctly not because he lottes from the first move.

sadi, i'm wondering about your relationship to shihan. i saw posts where you guys were fighting pretty heavy not even 1 year ago. so what happened that you praise him like this?

my opinion is he is NOT the player of the year.

he played 60 games in 2005 and 50 of them were against players with a rating not even close to 1500.
now tell me why you think he is the right one for this award.

by the way his average opponent rating in 2006 is 1100.
i know he is a pretty good player so i'm wondering why he selects his games.

shihan, i hope you won't misunderstand me. you told me you want to become a top20 player in 2006 but by playing only low ranked players you'll never be a real member of the illustrious top20 of gravon.

Hi, I totally agree with my friends Oge,Sadi, and Esquire -- I am a very defensive player. The reason I'm such a defensive player is because I am inept at offensive play. If I were to change from being a defensive player to an offensive player, I would shift from mediocrity to absolute oblivion, perhaps occupying a rank of 1200 or so. Being an effective offensive player like Wussy or WSC superstar SargeantD (formerly known as t8kme2urleada -- a true "where are they now" story) requires brains and skill. Hopefully after a several more a$$ kickings by great offensive players I'll get it together and improve my offensive play, but until then my bottom will be red from all the whippings I take in this unbelievably addictive game we call stratego. Oh wait I left one offensive superstar out -- the great Riskytom.

Cheers, TP

nice post tp
i would like to add another award if you permit, sadistic.

THE MOST RESPECTABLE PLAYER
...the award goes to TP. he is a man of honor and his manners would never allow him to join a game w/o asking before, to refuse a rematch or to flee from the battlefield. there is no player far and wide with such a reputability and sportsmanship (except perhaps tom ).

I must admit in the Games I have Played against TP, He has sat back and waited..defensive. I like to move in on TP Quickley, as he knows to play out a game under his control is doomed..What do yu think Neil?

Cheers Jerry.

skywalker, I explained why I chose Keyser Shihan as the player of the year. To answer your other inquiry, it is true that Shihan and I went at it early in my membership here at gravon. However, after he and I got to know one another, things changed. Keep in mind that Shihan did extremely well in the tournament and also that he is an excellent barrage and UL player. If my pick offends some players here, all the better. After all, look at my name.
Skywalker, I agree with your statements concerning tableplay. He is truly a class act and also an educated, respectable man. There is also little doubt that he belongs right where he is, ranking high in the Sadistic fan club. In 2006 it has become obvious that being a member of the Sadistic clan is in vogue. With Esquire (notorious Sadistic ally) at the top of Kleier and myself dominating WSC, we have become a dominant force. Other Sadistic allies, Keyser Shihan and ricardo90 are also at the top of the food chain; Shihan in barrage and UL and ricardo in both Kleier and WSC. In short, it is wise to be a Sadistic fan, while quite foolish not to be. Any prospective players who wish to be mentioned in next year's annual awards, I suggest joining my fan club and doing some diligent research of my greatness. It seems to have rubbed off on those who who have done so in the past.

First of all, thank you skywalker for the nice compliment. You too are a great sportsman and I enjoy our chats as well. Jerry, your assessment of our games is quite accurate -- I am very defensive when we play and you do indeed usually bring out your big guns relatively early in our matches to get things going. However the most defensive player here at Gravon (that I have played anyhow) is the mighty Tim who is reticent to even attack with a scout.
Sadistic my good fellow, thank you for the terrific compliments. Your writing skills are legendary and I look forward to reading more of your eloquent posts and playing you on the battlefield.

Cheers and Happy Lunar New Year to All
