resetters

hey ppl,

since long i'm annoyed by these people i call resetters. Imagine this:

You are in the mood for a nice game of stratego. you enter a room and wait for an opponent.

Somebody enters the room... ("yeah cool")
He or she joins the game... ( "finally, been waiting for a while")
**** resets the game
**** leaves the room

WTF???????

Is it because i'm waiting to play barrage or U.L. and they don't like it? They don't like me? Or are they just stupid?

There are a few people how did this to me several times, but warlord is the worst. he did this to me lots of times.

* warlord joins this room
* warlord joined the game on place 2
* warlord reset the game
* warlord left the dark planet

Maybe i am the only one who gets really pissed off by this, then so be it. if not, we need to do something about this. Maybe we can a make a list of so called resetters, and if a person does this x times, he gets banned for a few days or something like that?

hi baffi,

i know the prob and saw it from time to time. i think most players dont
know how to leave a game. so they reset it. thats the fastes way.

looks stupid - is stupid... but changing the behaviour of people is not easy.

same with players who always go back to room 0 before entering a new
room. they dont know how to manage the room list. so they enter and
leave a room 20 times. even if you tell them, they dont change.

it's me le claire.........listen very carefully ....i shall say this only once!

It's not you bud, its the fact certain people dont want to try UL and Barrage.
It's happened to me loads of times......they jump in and start a game without even looking at which game it is!
Then when they realise it's not classic they repeat the famous whimpy saying of "I ONLY PLAY CLASSIC"
My resolve for cutting down the number of unwanted resets......is to start a game when known UL and Barrage players are on gravon.....because most of them who have tried UL and Barrage come back for more games.

I know this is kinda letting the resetters win.....but it gets a little boring spending time waiting for a game....then having to reset when someone joins then leaves.
Alternatively Ban the guys who do this, its a little harsh, but maybe like you said baffi....a couple of days ban might learn them a lesson.
I honestly don't think it's malicious in any way, i just think that maybe "They are not the sharpest tool in the box" ........I mean do you actually see good players do this? The answer in my opinion is no!
But do you see New players and below average players do this?
Well judge for yourself!
As for do we need somethink done about it?
Yes is my opinion!
But maybe a verbal warning from Stratego or Spion might do the trick!
So maybe report these guys and let Stratego give them a talking to!

I think in MOST cases that will resolve the problem!

yes, some people really need to buy some glasses or open their eyes before they join a game. If not, a simple sorry would be less arrogant, but even that is too much for some poeple... and sometimes this happens 5 times before i can actually start a game.

BUT warlord once reset my game without even joining... thats just stupid rude behaviour... imo

another story was that 2 people (cant remember who) entered my room, reset, and started their own game saying i have bad luck today and have to find another room... joink

we need some police on the streets at gravon

i couldn't see anything wrong at all he speaks the truth players who do that are a**holes and should be thrown to the lions

talking of lions the all blacks are going to destroy us if we dont improve fast and as for the ashes well my fingers are crossed

hi baffi,

there is no police at gravon but always some admins. if you see this, copy the chat text (and if not in chat) room nr. - day and time and nick.

then send all to silver or me. email is here at forum.
we stop this, for sure.

today i spoke with warlord.

its the story i told. he didnt knew how to leave a game, so he reset it.
i showed him the correct way, he dont do it anymore.
