Massive server problems

Hi!

some of you may already have noticed that the server was down yesterday morning and that battle results of the last 5 days are lost.

Thursday last week, gravon was moved to this new server because the old one had hardware problems causing it to crash from time to time.

The new server run wonderfull for about 5 days but yesterday it died, reason unknown. A reboot did not help. Bad luck again.

Tomorrow i will drive to the it center where the server is located and i will try to repair it and rescue the lost results.

Now Gravon is back on the old server. I guess it will still crash from time to time, because i had no chance to repair the old server within these 5 days.

I'm sorry for the problems, but seems like i got bad luck with servers

Please don't ask about the lost results, i will do my very best to get them and reinsert them into the database.

Spion, I've played 2 games that are not showing up because of the crash I suppose. They are the following:
Warhero_POW defeated mailman 8-23-04 Approx 10:00 pm central (forfiet)
Warhero_POW defeated Winchester 8-25-04 Approx 10:00 pm central (frofiet). This game actually shows up in the battle results but is not added to the rankings. I should have 30 straight wins as of now. Thanks, Warhero_POW.

Hi!

the crashed server is now lying on my desktop at home. Seems like the mainboard failed, so i guess the battle results are still there.

More on this topic follows tomorrow.

Due to some comments from fellow players I thought I better clarify my earlier post...
It was a JOKE! I did not have those wins against the top 10. I thought it would be obvious that I was kidding, but some took it seriously I guess so this is to set the record straight. I did not have those wins, and I'm sorry if I misled anyone.

Yes, I can see that with different languages and cultures represented here, this could lead to some difficulties in interpreting humour.

However, it boggles the mind to think that some people may actually take llimoinc seriously!!

Hi again,

the new server has been repaired and is working again, it will be online in the next days.

I was able to recover all 1304 gameresults played on the server before it died. I will insert them into the database as soon as possible.

Spion, I'm showing that I should have 32 wins in a row. It looks like a win is missing that I played against puk on 7-12-04. Two games were played that day against puk but it's only showing one of them. I was lucky enough to win both. Could you check on this please. Thanks, Warhero
