Why are you mocking with Dermeister, Ace? Hoping to make him even angrier?

Is it really so that hackers can see set ups (if they want) like Dermeister says? I hope not.

I know no one can outwit the site's self-proclaimed "most intelligent" poster, so I won't even try. In fact my statement is completely fabricated fiction. However, I do think Gman is a really cool dude. Even though rubie puts his ruby slipper (foot), in his mouth most often, the Gman must point out the obvious to us because he is just so damn smart.

Totally in the name of fun and nothing more, I have found information that backs up Mr. Giovedi's conditional statement "if you don't want to be blackmailed for dress-code-errors... "

http://www.giovedifashions.com/

Giovedi is the place to find quality, handmade designer handbags. Giovedi proudly offers one-of-a-kind, high fashion bags and purses designed and hand-sewn by a Colorado artist. New styles arrive every season with luxurious fabrics and bold color schemes to compliment your chic wardrobe.

Explore the website to learn more about the stylish Giovedi look. Browse the catalog for the latest handbag fashions, designed around elegant themes of Greek goddesses and queens. Giovedi bags are perfect for a glamorous special occasion, and also great as gifts for friends and family!

Art, is there anything particular you wanted tell me with your post?
I mean, its hard to discover the gist of it...something one might say not that unusal, considering that many of your posts either seem to have nothing to do with the original-thread (probably intended to be posted in one of the self-help-forums you are a regular guest at) or seem to be written in acute delirium.

I might be completely wrong here and if thats the case I apologise, but for some unknown reason you seem to have a go at me.
Me being "damm smart" and "a self-proclaimed most intelligent poster"??

So let me ask you straight:

Did I hurt your feelings somehow?
Perhaps you think I'm responsible that the us-goverment does not want to pay a systematic medical-treatment for hopeless cases like you?
Or do you believe I've been the one who stole the chalk out of your cave in order to avoid further caveman paintings from your last stratego-defeats?
The Zookeepers are cleaning your cave once a week anyway so no "art" will last forever.

Besides, I can assure you that I've done no such thing. In fact, I was merely trying to ignore your posts just like some dust on my monitor.

And I surely I never proclaimed me as the "most intelligent poster" or something like that.
If I left such an impression on your ruffled ego, I am deeply sorry.

And when mother nature will some day be generous to you, you'll might take the next step in human-evolution.
Then you'll find out that the term "giovedi" is very common in some areas, because its the italian word for "thursday", originated from latin and that I am nothing special,
no friend, no enemy and most certainly no handbag-seller....just from your current point of view.

Yes I did know it meant Thursday on my march to get a reaction from you. Also I said that my statement that you were self proclaimed "smart"
was pure fiction. That means I made it up. Which you do a very good job at.

The only thing the U.S. government need do for me is to get Senor' Bush out of office so the world can settle back down somewhat.

Good day sir.
Not having any goes at you.

Well I did not know where exactly the fiction started and why I've been the target of it anyway. But as I said, if I'm completely wrong about you having a go at me I sincerly apologise for my reaction.

As far as Mr.Bush(whacker) is concerned I think the democrats will win the next election,hopefully...

hi ric,

hopefully for a last time!
i know that you like the idea that all is possible. but reading your text, i see
that you dont even have an idea how the setups are saved.
most think the server knows (and shows) the same kind of data you see at
monitor. but this is totally wrong.
we cannot speak about your saved setups at harddrive, but as far as
the server at gravon is involved, you cannot see anything.
even if you have free access to the data of a game, you couldnt find the
infos or moves within the 15 mins. not even spion could do this.

and hacking the gravon server would mean, that the best of the best would try this,
but for what reason - think they like much more important
targets like money.
beside, in all the years as admin i never saw one single privat setup or regame.
spion is more than carefully with these informations and there is a 100%
cut between these and other informations. that allows me to go on with
playing here. otherwise i wouldnt play anymore.
in addition, (lets just for a second think about it) if the server is hacked,
we would see this and post it directly. i cannot speak for all, but gravon
is for sure the most secure side if we speak about privat or game
informations.

lets say me by third time then,

i think the person i know is much better with computers and software etc then spion.

and i don't only think its possible, because i know its possible. he has showed me one time with example that he could see what his opponent was doing, on games for pc, and on gravon also. so when he showed me and you admins didn't recognized it, sorry then the safety is not enough i'm afraid.

but keep in mind, it is possible and don't say it isn't because i think that then you are the one who doesn't know anything about it

WOW.......I think maybe I should be worried!

Yes 13th. Nice that you follow the results. Question is where would you have ended. You suggest you would have ended high...

hi ric,

ok - lets say its true (and i know it isnt)
even to try hacking the gravon server will cause a lifetime banning.
hope spion doesnt read this.

Hi,

it is not possible to see the setups of your opponents by hacking the gravon software.

If you start a game, your setup is only stored at two locations: within your client and on the server. The client of your opponent does not get your setup.

To be able to see a setup would mean that your opponent has to hack into the gravon server (nearly impossible) and would require knowledge about how the server stores setups within memory (the only place where setups of running games are stored).

That would mean tons of work to do, hacking, reverse engineering and much more.

A server within the internet is attacked by hackers multiple times a day. If the gravon server would be hackable, a hacker would have hacked it yet. Not to see setups (most hackers don't care about the stuff running on servers they hack) but to share illegal software, videos and so on.

Since that hasn't happen, i don't think the server is hackable.

And ruben, why do you think you know how good i am?

So what is possible?

While you are playing, you attack pieces or get attacked by pieces. Every attack releases informations about your setup. If your opponent writes down the original field of every piece he is attacking or he gets attacked by and writes down what piece it was, he is able to reconstruct your setup (a good stratego player even does not have to write such things down).

So after a game, your opponent may know your setup. Without any hacking involved...

Besides that, we got StraDoS2. Maybe if a player has got enough knowlegde about your setup while playing, he may be able to use StraDoS2 to browse through games looking for a setup that matches his informations so far...

Best regards
spion

(just as a hint: hacking a server is an illegal act and prohibited by international law. if anybody tries to hack the gravon server, he will be taken to court)
