Gravon Open U.L. Tournament 2007.

The International Ultimate Lightning Association would like to invite All U.L. players to join in the annual Gravon Open UL Tournament. This is the first year for this event, but it is hoped it will become a regular tournament. All games played in this tournament will count towards the "Official World Rankings". This tournament will also count towards the IULA World Tour competition.

This tournament will be a knock out tournament and will work like a tennis tournament.
If you lose your match, you are out of the tournament.

A match is played in a "best of 3" games.
If after 3 games, the two opponents are still tied, an additional game must be played.
If it's still a draw, an additional game is played, and so one until somebody wins (so the first one to win an additional game is qualified ; the other player is out).

There will be seeded players, to avoid two top players having to play against each other too soon in the tournament.
The array of the competition will be drawn on the 30th of April 2007.
So you'll be able to see all the possible matches till the final, once the draw is published.

To establish the order of the seeded players, the IULA has decided to use the following rankings, by priority :
1. Offical World U.L. Ranking.
2. Gravon UL ranking, as displayed on the 30th of April 2007.
3. Metaforge UL ranking, as displayed on the 30th of April 2007.

To join in this Cup, you have until the 30th of April, by posting a message in this thread or by contacting me in the gamesroom.

NEW for 2007 is an additional tournament which combines all 5 major open tournaments. In additional to the "Official World Rankings", there will be a chance to participate in the IULA World Tour. Every player would receive points if they finished in the qualifying places in each tournament. The overall point leader at the end of the year, will become the IULA World Tour Champion.

Also, the IULA would like to announce that this tournament will attribute points for the IULA Tour, as followed :
1st : 10 points,
2nd : 7 points,
3rd : 5 points,
4th : 3 points,
5-8th : 1 point.

For the other 4 tournaments this year, the attributed points will be :

Meta Open Championship :
1st : 10 points,
2nd : 7 points,
3rd : 5 points,
4th : 3 points,
5-8th : 1 point.

European and US Championship :
1st : 10 points,
2nd : 7 points,
3rd : 5 points,
4th : 3 points.
Winner of each pool, not finishing in the top 4 : 1 point.

World Championship :
1st : 20 points,
2nd : 16 points,
3rd : 13 points,
4th : 10 points,
5th : 7 points
6th : 4 points.

The I.U.L.A. World Tour rankings will be posted on :
http://www.ultimatelightning.org
and updated (along with the world rankings) after each competition.

Yes you are allowed to enter.

I might not like you very much.......but you are allowed to enter. This is NOT Ace Rimmers tournament......this is a tournament run by the I.U.L.A.

Each player plays a selected opponent by appointment. 1 week per round.

Each round is a best of 3.

If you lose your best of 3.......your out of the competition.

It would have been nice to get an extra player to make a nice number of 16, but 15 is not bad.

Hi DelBoy,

Sooner or later, you'll have to play a difficult match.
And a lot of newcomers are very good, even if they don't have a good ranking yet. Should you play against pats010304 or andreas1977, you would be surprised !

I hope to play you soon, in this tournament or in a friendly match.

hey steve

im ok playing anybody no matter if i win or lose but im just bringing it up that
the rankins of ppl are not in order ace should have them in

hope to play you too steve!

p.s i will be playing in the tournament but beware players that i have a rubbish connection and i cant get it sorted at the moment (its a long story)
so if i lose connection while playing then its not because i have had enough its simply because my internet has cut off again!
and i find it hard to get connected back on in the 15min time limit sometimes which is not good at all!
