Hi esquire, as you may know, the "views" column of each topic shows how many folks have opened the topic. So this may also be a good statistic to use when keeping track of forum reading individuals.

LOL, No my friend. The views are how many times it has been viewed-NOT how many different people viewed it.
The poll I made will account for anyone that actually does the poll. Since you can only do it one time, it will be accurate.
I am doing this as a test -- My next post is going to be about the next tourney and I wanted to see how many people actually checked out the forum lately, because there has been a decline in participation lately.
Sorry if you thought this post was useless. |

Hi Esquire,
Nice add mate, Registered players can only submit one.
As TP indicated, a true messure is by view, and this can be viewd by continued "clicking" of that post.
I guess it's a must by the Registered players of Gravon to submit their vote, that can be measured.
Cheers Jerry. |

Good point Esquire. The more folks who decide to read a message more than once, the more inaccurate the "view" statistic will be as a measure of how many different people read the post in question. On the plus side of this metric, any time a post is opened the view metric will increment by one, whereas someone reading a poll post doesn't necessary have to take the poll so that the poll statistic doesn't always increment by one.
Happy Superbowl.

Apologies to anyone out there who might be a lawyer. Of course I mean every other lawyer besides you when I say shoot all the lawyers.
Society is too damn litigious. Any problem we have, we blame someone else and sue them for it. Nobody wishes to be accountable for their own actions anymore.
An example:
"BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Three Massachusetts women backed by pro-abortion rights groups sued Wal-Mart on Wednesday, saying the retail giant violated state law by failing to stock emergency contraception pills in its pharmacies."
Basically, these women are pissed because they went to Wal-Mart to get the "morning after" contraception pill, but were turned away because Wal-Mart does not stock that pill in their Massachusetts stores. In Massachusetts, it is state law, for all pharmacies to stock all medications that are commonly prescribed to meet the usual needs of the community. First of all, I don't think the "morning after" emergency contraception pill is considered as something that meets the "usual" needs of the community. After all, there's a reason they call it the "emergency" contraception pill. Maybe these women should have used any number of methods of contraception commonly available for the last several decades. Maybe I'm just pissing off any women readers. Whatever. That's kind of a personal, moral argument that should possibly be considered on an individual basis. But you know what? That's not even the part of the story I really care so much about. Here's the part of the story that really got my hackles up:
"The women said they knew they would be refused when they went to the Wal-Marts in Quincy and Lynn and that the action was planned with the abortion rights groups and lawyers.
After being refused, McCarty and Battel went to other pharmacies and got their prescriptions filled. CVS, the state's largest pharmacy chain, stocks the pill at all of its pharmacy locations, as do the state's other major pharmacy chains."
They did this specifically so they could sue Wal-Mart. Ain't that a bitch? Wal-Mart is an easy target these days because so many people consider them the big, evil empire of American capitalism. What really pisses me off is that they planned this. They knew Wal-Mart didn't stock what they wanted, so they went there with the sole aim of becoming a royal pain in Wal-Mart's ass. Ever heard of turn the other cheek, ladies? Ever heard of shopping somewhere else? Guess who I learned that from? Nope, not my Mom. Dear old Dad, who said, "Well, if they're not going to carry what you want to buy, don't give them your business."
Actually, they did. The other sentence above said that they just went to the largest pharmacy chain (CVS) in their state and got what they needed. In fact, I believe the story stated that all the major pharmacy chains except Wal-Mart in the state of Massachusetts carry the pill they wanted. Doesn't sound to me like they are having to endure major hardship here.
Let's review the logic involved. These women needed the emergency contraception pill (because of a serious breach in their personal judgement) and decided to go somewhere they knew did not carry said pill. They planned the event in advance to ensure lawsuits and media coverage would ensue. Then, they strolled around the corner to their local CVS pharmacy and got the pill.
I would pay money to see a judge say, "This is some stupid-ass bit. Get the kufc out my courtroom!" And it would be better if the judge was a really pissed-off Samuel L. Jackson. |

Call it the tale of two different shirts worn by two very different women: a well-known peace activist who has agitated the White House and a lawmaker's wife who has staunchly supported the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
On Wednesday afternoon, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said neither woman should have been removed from the chamber. "We made a mistake," he told CNN.
"Just wearing a T-shirt is not unlawful," Gainer said. Wearing a T-shirt and engaging in actions meant to draw attention to the shirt is against the law, he said, but neither woman was doing so.
Sometimes it's just so gratifying to be right.
By the way...if wearing a t-shirt and then engaging in actions meant to draw attention to the shirt is against the law, why aren't more large-breasted women arrested for wearing skimpy t-shirts while out dancing? |

How do you round up the masses when our generation hasn't really had to DO anything worth while?
So...our generation hasn't really HAD to do anything. And therein lies the heart of the matter, ladies and gentlemen. The root of the problem, if you will. We haven't HAD to do anything.
We are sitting around waiting for something to happen to get angry enough about so that we feel we HAVE to do something. My generation is
so
kufcink
lazy.
I don't mean you don't work hard at your job sometimes, or that you don't take care of your kids, or that you have a shitty-looking house with a shitty-looking yard. I mean that we are too caught up in ourselves. Maybe we don't care about money as much as our parents did...I actually read a story the other day containing a survey that said my generation is much more concerned with being mentally stimulated at work than getting promotions and making more money. That all sounds well and good, but you know what?
It's selfish.
Our parents generation created a whole counterculture in response to the things they thought were wrong. The civil rights movement, hippies protesting the establishment and involvement in Vietnam...and they were right. In subsequent years, it's become common knowledge that civil rights should be guaranteed to all regardless of race, that the government is gaining too much power and elections are being bought, and that the war in Vietnam was wrong. Our parents were right, and they did something about it, and then they got older and concentrated on making money, some dumbass coined the term the "Me" generation because they were so concerned with making money, and you know what they did with all that money?
They took care of us.
Unprecedented numbers of people in our generation had cars and went to college. We became so smart in college that we decided our parents, the "Me" generation, had it all wrong, that they were so unhappy and all they did was make money. So we were going to show them. We're more concerned with "mental stimulation" at work. What a bunch of friggin' pansies we are.
Work is what you make of it. If you want mental stimulation, work harder, get your bit done and try to think of ways to make your job better or more productive. Get your sorry ass off e-mail or online chat or whatever it is you do on the computer for that two hours a day you're sure as hell not doing your job. Americans (and sorry I'm not including Canadians, L, it's just outside my frame of reference because I don't know what you hosers bitch about or how many hours a week you typically work up there in the Great White North. So take off, eh?) always bitch about how we work SO much, that the rest of the world sticks pretty much to the 30-40 hour work-week and gets more vacation than we do.
You know why so many people in our generation work 60 hours a week? Because they waste a lot of time at work. I once had a boss tell me that we should only be working 40 hours a week. She said she'd tolerate us working 45 on occasion, but if we were consistently working over 40 then we needed to reconsider what we were doing for a living, because our time-management skills obviously weren't up to snuff.
We shouldn't HAVE to do something worthwhile. We should CHOOSE to do something worthwhile. It's a big, scary world out there, and we're up next.
thanks for reading. I just wasted your time too |

Art, Walmart is an easy target because it tries to push all its political, social, and religious views on everyone. I mean c'mon, a music group wants to talk bad about Bush and Walmart quits selling their CDs, which sells over 30% of ALL CDs in the US. That is BS. And you remember a woman by the name of Rosa Parks--well that was staged with lawyers and the media too. Some things need to be staged in order to change things. Until abortion is made illegal by the Court-Walmart SHOULD have to sell this pill, especially if the state requires them too. I hope Walmart loses tons of money on this.......It is EVIL. I hope Starbucks gets sued next. |
