I believe Imperial Jul is trying to say that players here should not play "kamikaze" stratego. I have lost many games against people who play that style, but I don't have a problem with that. You must protect yourself from such an attack, that's part of the game. We can all agree that you will lose much more than you win playing this style, but if people wish to use this method, more power to them. Remember also, many times your opponent forces you to resort to this style to have any chance of winning the game. I wish all the players out there who start whining about people being "lotto kings" or "all luck" would just say "good game" and go to the next opponent. Just my thoughts,

Lotto is part of the game. I rarely use it and yes, I lose to players that do it. However, it is part of the game. What do you expect players to do when they are down pieces? Anyway, you cannot "ban" attacking unmoved pieces.

I want everybody to stop playing chicken stratego! If you never take a risk and never hit an unmoved piece with your marshall, you don't play real stratego! If this chicken stratego doesn't stop immediately, I'll invite all stratego players to quit playing stratego and play malefiz instead!

I think playing 'good' Stratego is somewhere between kamikaze and chicken

Playing kamikaze (kamikazi IMHO = start the game, take the Marshall or General and hit all until: you get enough high pieces, the flag or hit a bomb) will not have a high win%
Playing chicken (Chicken IMHO = only hit pieces you know the strenght off) wil have a higher win %
Playing chicken style is boring to see but requiers a good memory and lots of concentration of the chicken

I guess a good chicken who takes (low) risks at calculated points will win 8 or 9 out of 10.

I'm angry because between people who make kamikaze and who fall on a bomb and others who win with a good kamikaze because they have 50000000 names and who know your setup by heart, I am sure that at the end they know where take and they should not have too problem to win.

I have make 2 groups of kamikaze :

1) They are lucky and they take the Flag or an big pieces.

2) The cheaters, they know your setup by heart because they have 500000 names, and they can make kamikaze without problem.

Now I play only unrank with LegionFrancaise for one month and look how they make kamikaze.

If you know someone is about to play kamikazi then they can be easily defeated by bombing in one side, and splitting the other side and the middle with gen/spy combo or marsh---simple as that---problem solved. No one will win consistently with that play style because of this. In the example I just gave, Mr. Kamikazi can only hope to break even splitting marsh's or generals if he goes that way---his odds are about 1 in three. If Mr. Kamikazi has played you a few times normally and then surprises you and destroys you with a kamikazi attack he has earned that victory and you must deviate your setup somehow.
Sometimes, the queer guy gets to dress up the straight guy-----you just have to resign yourself to beating him upside the head later...even if you're ghochan the lovable.

Listen...it goes like this......if you are a Master at Defense...as i am..that lotto stuff (which is perfectly legal and i think adds excitement to any given game) can easily be contained with minimum damage. Playing unranked will only make your problem worse. People are alot more likely to play"kamikaze" style in an unranked game. There's nothing to lose. Plus, most of the players here won't play unranked unless they are at the site under a "bogus" name.
