Was playing Aeolus in UL today and I couldn't rescue with my Marshall! Had I rescued with my marshall and got my General back that game would have been over. I was up a captain also. This disrupted my plan of attack and caused me to lose. I rely heavily on timing the rescue for my offensive and when I can't rescue because of this I cannot plan accordingly. This has happened plenty of times to me that I haven't been able to rescue when I SHOULD HAVE been able to. Please fix this bug because the rescue is an important aspect of UL!

P.S I used the General to rescue my Marshall that was rescue #1.

I tried to use the Marshall to rescue my General and system did not allow it that would have been #2. I eventually rescued my General with Captain but that was not my intended strategy of attack. My plan would not have put me in a position to guess and I would have all my opponent's pieces covered. Which had me the win! . Just please fix this problem. I don't understand why the system would not recognize that my marshall wanted to rescue!

He is right, he couldn't rescue his gen, while he had still 1 rescue left, i would have probebly lost (GM was sure i'd lost, i rarely play the game so i really don't know) so please undo my win.

I'm sorry if I was fast with you in the Gameroom. I really did not want the win because I didn't earn it and you just forfeiting the game to me is not fair to you. Its best that this game be wiped off the record. No one wins no one loses

Hi!

it was a bug in the ul code.
If a piece is rescued, the rescueing piece gets a little "x" to show that it can't rescue another piece again. This "x" then walks around with the piece.

Now the bug: If your x-marked piece gets beaten either by attacking or by being attacked, the "x" mark wrongly "jumps" to your opponents piece.
If your opponent moves this piece away, the "x" gets trapped on the empty field until you move into it with another piece. Now this piece gets the "x" making it unable to rescue. Very bad thing..

This was what happened in your game: You rescued a piece with your general. Now the general had a x-marker. Later, your general was beaten by your opponents general, now the opponents general had the "x". In the right next move, you attacked the general with your marshall. Your marshall now took over the x-marker and was unable to rescue your general.

Of course, the intended behaviour of the x-marker is to die with the piece (here your general).

I removed the bug and updated server and clients. If you are using an older client for some reason (e.g. through a buggy proxy server), you will have to go to the menu and do "Game"->"Resync" to get rid of the wrong x-marker. Do this immediatly after the x-marker walked to a place where it doesn`t belong!
