Hello everybody!
Here are some instructions for new players to help them find their way around here.
Once you found this site already (may it be via www.gravon.net or via gravon.de), click "Launch Gravon".
Using the Java client is not recommended.
To log in, make sure your browser allows cookies for this site. For information about
how to allow cookies or how to add an exception rule in your browser, please consult the documentation.
Fill in your user name; and, if you have, your password.
You can play unregistered; but only registered players can play ranked games.
Click the "Login" button.
You see a screen with two buttons on the left, and a list of games to the right.
To enter an empty room (to "open it", so to say), click onto the game you want to play.
A list of "rooms" shows up - think of a "room" as some sort of channel.
To enter a free room, click onto the leftmost column (the one that has only text, such as
"Room: 203 Gravon wars").
To join the game, click onto either of the "join" buttons. Depending on the game,
the buttons determine which color you will be playing with; such as in Stratego or Malefiz.
Other games, such as chess, take the first player to join as White, and the second as Black.
Above the game area, you see a menu bar.
Once there are enough players, the game can be started via menu "Game" -> "start" (2nd from top).
"Start new round" should work too; this is to start another game after having finished one.
In-game actions are done by clicking right into the game field.
Menu "Functions" -> "back to lobby (room 0)" brings you back to where you came from.
To enter a room where some players are already present: this can either be done as described above;
or via the overview.
Click "Show all tables with players". You will see an overview of which rooms are occupied,
and where somebody is waiting for other players.
To enter a room, click into either the leftmost column (game icon) or the second-leftmost column
(room number). Clicking into the column with the player names will have no effect.
Quick travel: The command "/raum" (german for "room") brings you directly into one of the rooms;
such as "/raum 203".
Further help:
Administrators are indicated by the colour of their nicknames.
- Dark blue: Chief Administrators
- Black: Administrators
- Orange: Moderators
Hope that helps to get started.
Have fun on Gravon!
best regards,
Ryuu |
