hi,

we have a lot of new registered nick names, which are well schooled in using gravon.

we should discuss the rules for some changes:

- first one is, that players need a registered nick name which has at least a ranking for more than one 2 months. (all-time or yearly)

- 2nd: players cannot join, if their nick is banned for rule violation.

- 3rd: only one player from one ip adress. (you cannot play ranked games against the same ip)

- 4th: we should take the all-time ranking for the group pairing

i think we need some more rules / changes.

i think its tricky to mix up 2 ranking systems. but ok...

about new nicks:

jens14 is ok, hansie => i am not sure (he has ranking now) - but we have a lot more. its just that if a player is realy new, he will lose all games.

but these players are not new, we can check a lot but i do not want to post hints here. its very strange, that in front of a tourney new players show up
and try to join the tourney. new players dont even know that we have a forum etc. they are glad to handle the first games.

its better to play with 32, than with 50 and 20 are double nicks. thats unsportive nad not fair to the players who use one nick since years.

so rule 1 is a gravon terms & condition task and these players will only
get a ranking if we are 100% sure, that the player is real.

Hi Stratego,

Of course we dont want double nicks, its important to have a clean tournament. No cheating, no doping and no match fixing . I dont know anything about double nicks etcetera. We trust you in handling them. Zach please add gravon rules at the tournament rules. I agree its important to be clear about that.

About the ranking, we just check on the deadline (which is 27 april) the 2013 ranking list. Players who are not at that list we will use the all time list (and the Kleier all players list). Its all Kleier so thats reliable to match I believe.

yes we take the rating of each player at 27th of april for pairing the groups.

maybe at 10:00 or something like that - its just that the rules are clear and all can verify the pairings/groups.

also i would like to change the group stage:

within the group we should play all vs. all with 2 games each pairing.

this will bring a total result of 2:0 / 1:1 / 0:2
2:0 (2 wins) => 6 points
1:1 (1 win - 1 loss) => 3 points
0:2 (2 losses) => 1 point

so taking action and winning/losing a pairing will bring 7 points (6 + 1)
playing save with 2 draws only (3 + 3) 6 points

the best 2 of the group (group with 4 players) will go to knock out.

knock out is best of 3 for next round (in case of a draw after 3 games it goes on till one wins next)

final / and game place 3/4) is best of 5 with same rule in case of a draw.

i think this is much better and brings more action.
