first of all a bif "thank you" to hal, for running the 8th fosp tourney.
a long historie in a constantly changing online world.

about the next one: maybe end of year would be fine.

Looking back, I see that this was actually the 12th tourney FOSP has held online between THE ZONE, WSC(i think that is what it was called), and GRAVON. I lose track it has been so long since the THE ZONE and the 2 hour games aginst Stratego (aka Stratego_Master)

The next FOSP tourney will start Nov. 1st so that it will be finished before new years. Watch for registration beginning Oct. 1st.. There will be divisions but I will tell you who you must play each week with Sunday default times as I have done in the past(2 opponents each week). It will be 1 game against those opponents, not a best 2 out of 3 like the present tourney.

i was not sure, but thought it could be more than 8, but as you mentioned, its long ago.
please send us a message end of sept., then we will announce the next one at homepage.
think a lot more would like to join the tourney.

I liked the format of this tournament too, with the divisions. But I also liked the best 2 out of 3 format because too many things can happen in a one game scenario. I also like the suggestion someone said in one of these threads about having a losers bracket with a one game advancement, just so people do not get discouraged when they see they cannot make the finals. A format incorporating all those parts would work well I think.

And more players always makes it better. I think we can all make an effort to invite more to join. I will.
