you exclude people by running a tournament run between 8am and 4pm eastern standard New York time. What kind of hours are these. Trying to constrain the times and dates that a tourney can be played makes the tournament hard to enter and likely to get entrants who become no shows.

hi hal,
i ask for a rule change.
the date for the default time is lunch time here - playing 3 games at this time is hard.
can we change it to a later date ? around 14 - 15:00 east?
think that also most in usa are ready with dinner then.
greets
stratego |

Hello Stratego,
The default time was so that 3 games could be completed before it was too late at night GMT time. If it was 2000 GMT or 2100 GMT the games might not end until 2300 or 2400 GMT. I would like to set no default time as long as the games are completed before 2400 GMT time. It is very important that ALL matches are played.
Everyone, please put your available times in the "challenges" section Monday and communicate often with your opponent so that the matches get completed. I will give the ricardo/citron match some extra days to play. PLEASE complete this match so that kent and edfx know who they are playing this week.
If matches are completed during the week and your opponent for the next round has completed there match also, you may play the following round game early. This will help speed up the tourney.
Stratego, please remove mind's reply on my post "2008 FOSP Classic schedule&results"
Also, Is there any way that you could lock that post so that I am the only one who can post or edit on that post?
