If player A sets up board as bronstein, and I join and setup and hit done, and my pieces are ready, but he has not yet setup, or hit done,
may I leave without the game starting, and losing to timer?
Today vs Winner, i hit done, his side was blank, so after 30 minutes, I finally left the room, and did a reconnect. I woke him several times, but he was inactive for 35 minutes. So I hope not to lose this game.
unbiasbob had a situation with Ambiorix where Ambi took forever to setup and bob left and lost to timer.
But I am wondering if this can only happen when both players have hit done, or can it happen if only one player hits done.
I didn;t think player A could hit "done" if the other player had left the table, because you cannot load pieces to your setup when the other player leaves.
However i suppose player A could setup his board, not hit done, then wait with ill intent for the other player to get fed up and leave the table.
I wonder what happened to Ambi, he is a good guy, so not saying anything bad. Just wondering how a player can lose to timer when both players have not yet hit done and no pieces have moved. |

no - you can check the game results or x-files. the game isnt in the list.
the game didnt start, because you left game before you move or he hit
done.

hello again,
just to make it clear:
if both hit done and one players doesnt move and the timer runs out then THE GAME DOESN`T COUNT !!!
both players must move at least one piece !!! otherwise the game doesnt count.
there is one additional case:
if red starts and hits with scout a first row flag, then the game counts, because the server
knows, that the game was finished with a captured flag.

"if both players have hit done and a piece has moved the game starts"
However unbiasbob said that the timer starts on red before any pieces are moved and in battle results the game showed as a loss.
Also he left the room when the other side of the board was not colored. |

maybe next time remove your oponent from game, if it takes to long (after you asked why) or you must go.....
game starts when both players have done their setups....... and before that you can always remove the one who is not ready yet....(i think) |

Yes indeed, 2 days ago I joined a timer game with ambiorix. I set up and hit done. I waited 15 minutes but he was still not set up. I removed myself from the game and left the planet. I checked later and saw that I lost by bronstein. can something be done about this game? |

hello,
i wasnt 100% sure, because i never play with clocks. catching spion at
phone i ask him and he told me same i thought. but we will check this.
its not fair to get a win if the game doesnt start for both.
if you didnt move or left game before he starts, we will remove the win.
but lets check the hole problem. normaly the game doesnt count till both
made at least one move.

ps. by the way - its not allowed to remove your opponent out of game! |

i would prefer remove oponent instead a loss.... after leaving the game
think !!!! or make the system works !!!!!
otherwise you can wait for hours..... and thats allowed isn't ....
but you must talk to oponent first about why it takes so long.....
and later you can handle about the actions with adm....
easy like that...........
NO WASTING TIME.............. |

I dont think removing the opponent is fool proof. If you have to leave, remove him and leave the planet, he may be able to rejoin and you have the same problem |

i meant remove oponent and reset game
if you remove yourself/leaving the game and have a setup on the board......you lose
if oponent put his setup on board and wait untill time is over
there is no other directly solution ...... or you just complain later to admin.
(that's the beloved gravon way .....they like it here) |

hello,
i tested 2 games with bronstein modus. both show that the opponent wins.
game 1: both players are in game, setup pieces and hit "done"
player red moves - blue not
game 2: both players are in game, setup pieces - then one players leaves game.
the other player gets win after the time out.
both results are wrong and will be corrected, please send an email to me.
we have very few games with a problem here. please wait till we fix this prob.
@ unbiasbob: i send your game to spion - he checks it and delete it
@eindhoven: if you remove a player out of game and the player send this info to us you are in trouble.
we can handle this 1-2 games with an info.
