Each team will be made up of FOUR players. The tournament will be classic only. Ace has more specific details on this, so you may want to ask him.

I do not care who is on my team--as long as you show up and actually play your games.

Hi Everyone!

Let me just clarify things a little!

When baffi and I were promoting the Tri-Stratego Tournament (back in June).
WSC_Junior asked if maybe we could have have a team tournament(classic only event)!

It sounded a good idea, so we agreed and asked privately several players, if they would be interested in a team tourney!
The response was great, and we agreed to organise a team tourney for September.
We penciled in, the last 10 days of August as the time to prepare rules and officially promote the tourney!
The decision of whether it would be a (friends team) OR (national team), was still undecided. But a teams event non the less.

Since then we have been very busy with the Tri-Stratego Tourney, and no further developments have happened.

Spion is organising a Autumn/Winter tourney!

So the plan was to fit the team tourney in beween the Tri-Stratego tourney and Spion's winter tourney.

The original plan was for a National Team Tourney(my personal preferance)......partly due to time restraints(max 8 teams, knockout), but the idea started to gather more pace with a team(friends) tourney.
At the minute, we are in a situation that the players are starting to take over the tourney and decide what they want!
I have No problem with that!
The tournaments are for the enjoyment of the players so please let me know what you want and i will try to organise somethink for you!

As we also discussed teams of friends instead of National sides, we thought maybe a team should be weighted, so the top players cant all join the same team!
Maybe maximum of 1 player in top 20
and 1 player between 20 and 50
and 1 player between 50 and 100
etc etc
Just an idea!
But nothink is set yet!
We were always thinking 3 members per team in national sides....although a nation like holland and germany could have a A team and a B team.
If we go with the idea of friends, then we could extend the numbers in a team to 5.
I dont see any point in teams being too large!

You may discuss what you want in the tourney, but nothink will be decided until later this month!
I'm sorry the details are not available yet!
But we will listen to all suggestions!

Well if it is 2005 i am out of luck--I rank higher than many that are better players than me. But whatever you like. It is your tourney. Guess I am not allowed to team up with Leto?

Please confirm the rules asap. I personally don't like the idea of limitations based on rating. We are playing to win, right?

I spoke with DarthRemark and some others players for the teams, it can be better to do Country Teams. In a team you can be 4 no more. If your country has already a team of 4 players you can creat a 2nd.
We have already some teams started and finished.

USA Team: CerealKilla DarthRemark ... ...

German Team: Iceman dcAnnies AnDi mind

French Team: WSC_Junior Flame jmb ...

UK Team: AceRimmer

Team who can be created if the players accpet to play:

Greek Team: gpet0 citron505 akritas miltos41

Belgian Team: Ambiorix maribo ... ...

And if at the end some players are the one player of hsi country we creat a team 'rest of the world', like for GeneralMax Maximus ....

If someone want to creat a team let me know this.

the idea of esq is very good i think
a team with 4 players and a limit of ranking points ( 6100 is not bad )

and its also good that the players can decide to form national teams or not

i wont play in a german team, i prefer a international team
(... if someone want me

...)

@ ace: if you dont form a national team, i would like to play with you and baffi
( i will practise my classic till the tourney starts

)

No it will not be 'Country' Teams. It is to hard at creat with the players from some countries like GeneralMax, Maximus ...

We restart the friends teams at 0. The teams already created will not count like mine.

For creat a team you need to have a Captain for your team and its him who will recruit the players who he wants, but, the total of points cant be over 6100 points in the Classic Kleier 2005. Dc Annies will not have his team who he said cause the total is 6447:

Iceman1564 + dcAnnies1660 + mind1555 + AnDi1668 = 6447

For the players who have no ranking in 2005 i will take the rankign of the Overall and if they have no ranking i will give them 1400 points for the tourney.

Some teams are already started

Mine: WSC_Junior 1701 + playa1 1738 + Bounty 1535(Kleier overall) = 4974

Esquire's team : esquire 1706 + Wussy 1739 = 3445

USA Team: CerealKilla 1638 + DarthRemark 1637 = 3275

What is that about? Saad and I together = 3275, leaving 2825? So we have to pick up two 1400 players to fit under the cap? That is crazy. There should be no limits whatsoever placed on the team.

fyi: We have recruited our 3rd player, Apollo. (that leaves us about 1200 points to spend under the current system.... again, that's crazy)

MasterShihan, we already have an invite out to a 4th player, but have not heard back from him yet. If he declines we will have to discuss who to replace him with. I'll put you on the short list.

But I can make no guarantees. Saad and I intend to win the tourney so we will take the player we think best fits the team. It's got nothing to do with friendship.
