UK National Online Tournament !

The 1st ever UK National Online Tournament starts in just under 4 weeks time.

Here are the dates:

Barrage Tournament: Saturday 20th of May 2006

Classic Tournament: Saturday 27th of May 2006

U.L. Tournament: Saturday 3rd of June 2006

We will be using swiss perfect and all the games will be played on 1 day!
Please keep this dates available!

Yes ruben.....you would be very surprized by the amount of UK players.
There time last year......we had a list of around 25 UK players who have played online stratego. There has been a good influx of fresh talent , since then. I have yet to update the records.....but I could see a possible list of between 40 and 50 players. Obviously not all will compete.....and many on the original list......have not competed in over a year. But I think we have a good chance of getting maybe 15 to 20 of the UK's best and most enthusiastic players.....into this tourney.

I will try to contact as many as possible over the coming week.....to compete.
The general standard is getting alot better too. 1st place for me......is not assured....the players in the UK are improving. But I would say.....I am favourite to take all 3 wins.

Although Anthony Melbourne might disagree with me on the classic winner

Does he also play on gravon then?

No, My name i am not anthony

Yes, he is a very good player

I have known him to play on Gravon, but mainly he is known for playing at Meta.

My estimate was wrong.
I got some results from my research yesterday!
I was AMAZED!
Over 100 UK players have played online stratego in the last 18 months. AND That figure does not include the UK gravon players or even the UK players who play from .com e-mail address's. It neither counts players who have not played in the last 18 months....or even include the regular players who play solely on the board game only.
I will contact each and everyone by e-mail and create a BSA data base. If your still interested on the exact figure......I will let you know, when my work is done.

I can now see the total figure to be easily .....in EXCESS of 150 UK players!

Hi ruben,

Unfortunately the participation was seriously effected by playing at 11am on a saturday. I think next time we will organise for afternoon or evening and definately play on a Sunday. We had alot of players unavailable for playing due to players working on Saturdays.
Nethertheless all enjoyed the tournement and that is the main thing.

Next year, I will organise a Sunday tournament so more players are available to play.

Yesterday we held the FIRST ever UK National Classic Tournament!

Again
Here are the Results of the Top 3 players.

2ND Brigadier
3RD UK4WChamp

It was a good competition which had some surprizes. The biggest surprize was the Top Northern Ireland player "Brigadier" playing superbly to finnish in 2nd place. Another surprize was the highest ISF ranked player finnishing in 3rd place and only taking bronze. Another surprize was the top Welsh player "G.Gogg" running in 4th place. Well done everyone who entered.

Obviously....... I was VERY happy with another Gold medal.

Next saturday is the final tournament of the UK National Championships.

Congratiolations! winning classic is a nice achievement! Which other gravon members competed?

Do you also compete at best (or second best) United Kingdom player at the World cup in Antwerpen this year?

there is only 3 UK gravon members who currently playing here.
Me, UK_Dagonet and DelBoy.

UK_Dagonet and DelBoy had to work on the day of the Tournament.......so I was the only UK player who plays here......who played in the Tourney. All the other UK players play on meta.

Definately changing next years tournament to a Sunday.......as UK players are too damn hard working and seem to enjoy working on Saturdays.

Last Saturday saw the final Tournament in the UK National Online Tournaments.

The Results of the UK National Ultimate Lightning Tournament are as follows:

Top 3 placed players were :

1st: AceRimmer
2nd: Brigadier
3rd: Sexybritt

The good news is I won again.

3 golds out of 3 competitions.

The bad news was that i hoped Cosmo would be able to play.......but I didn't hear any reply to my e-mails.

It would have been nice to have.......probably the 2nd strongest player in the UK at U.L. ...............play in the U.L.tournament.

Nevermind!

The tourney was publicised in many different locations.......and I e-mailed many players......after that.....I can do no more!

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!

Hopefully next year.....we might get Cosmo to come out of retirement and play a few tourney games.
