Anyone interested in a tournament here on gravon!

If there is enough interest maybe we could organize a tournament here!
(If that is ok with spion and silver)

We have all heard of the Decathlon, which are ten athletic events....with an overall winner
Well how about a stratego version with 3 events and an overall winner!
The events would be classic, barrage and U.L........With an overall winner!
Each event would have to be weighted, that is a classic win would be worth more than a UL or barrage win.......As classic players would be less likely to enter otherwise!
So even a classic player who only plays little U.L. or barrage could stand a chance against a player who is good at barrage and U.L.!
Maybe 6 points for a classic win, 3 points for a draw
4 points for a U.L. win, 2 points for a draw
and 2 points for a barrage win, 1 point for a draw
Each player would play his opponent once in each event!
With a maximum 12 points on offer.....
At the end of a series of 3 games....the player with the most points would be the winner....and win the MATCH! If the score was 6-6 the MATCH would be a draw!
Each match would receive points in the normal stratego way.....6points win
3 points each for a draw and 1 point for a loss. (me and Baffi, prefere the soccer system of 3 points for winning the match, 1 point each for a draw and 0 points for a loss.)

I spoke to Baffi this morning about this idea and he is very enthusiastic about this, just like me. He’s even offered to help me with organizing the event if spion says it’s ok and there is enough support for a competition.
Heck, he has even offered to get some cans of beer for the winner!

We thought we could use a similar system to the “Champions League”, where participants are seeded and put into groups. There they would play a league system with the winners and runners-up going through to the next round.
The seeding would be important to avoid the top players getting drawn in the same group as one another. For example Leto and generalmax would be strong seeds in this competition and should not be paired together until the latter stages.
Seeding could be devised from all 3 events, but with particular emphasis on classic kleiner ranking! We are working on a formula!

But like I said, this idea needs spion’s blessing and your backing!
What are your views?
Would anyone like to participate?
And more importantly is anybody INTERESTED?

yeah, i think it's a good idea to have a tournament here. well organised, this is fun for everyone!!

I hope loads of gravonians are interested and spion says its ok because if this taurnament is a success then we could make it a annual thing!
