If international players are willing to come, then we definitely need to consider that when choosing a location.
I think we need to have someone in charge, maybe esquire?
We also need to find out how many players are going to participate? Once that is done, get a list of 4 or 5 cities in the US and have a vote to determine where we will play. If it goes well and the interest is high, then maybe we can have more tournaments in different cities.

Sure Jerry -- you can stay over here in San Francisco next time you hit California. I will be attending some pinball tournaments so things could be tight for me in August. As far as Vegas, I would suggest we all stay in the downtown Fremont Street area which is in the old part of town. The strip is a total ripoff -- 6 to 5 blackjack,short-pay video poker yuk. Sadistic I'm out of shape so I don't wish to participate in any post-game pugalistic activities, but if you wan't to bring several female brazilian carnival dancers to the tournament that would be fine by me.
Cheers, tp.
P.S. Canadian players like Kent will hopefully come too. |

Tableplay, what makes you think these other clowns will be in any better shape than you are in? Perhaps I overestimated the importance of being in good physical condition. Just go for the early knockout and if that doesn't work for you, rely on the "ole belly whopper" to pull you through. Don't underestimate the impact of a sneak attack, either. While he is groping over his stratego pieces, you can unload massive damage upon him before he realizes that the game has taken on a new dimension. If you are going to do this, just remember, (before your attack) to minimize nervous twitches and other biophysical malfunctions, which could increase his suspicions of your foul intentions. Particularly when one is overmatched, the element of surprise is conducive to overwhelming victory. This is something you will be able to boast about for years to come. Lets not undermine the value of such a tool in your collection of grand memories of your illustrious life as a man. Humiliation, as a result of a board game, is not something that sits well in the frail ego of immature and underdeveloped men like ourselves.
As a charismatic legend, I have quite a substantial female following and I am able and willing to bring hords of delectables to this fiasco of modern tournaments. As long as nobody is confused as to which ones are up for grabs and which ones are my private stock, there will not be any problems. |

Hi Sadistic, thanks for the insiteful tips. To reduce the possibility of confusion, I suggest you place "Hello My Name Is" tags on each of the members of your party which you don't wish (or do as the case may be) to mingle with your fellow Gravonians. So, for example "Hello My Name Is: w/ Sadistic" or "Hello My Name Is: open for flirtation w/ any Gravonian" stickers can be affixed to each Sadistic posse member's clothing (or skin if there is a lack of clothing) in plain view. I estimate that there will be at least 15 Gravonians in attendence so plan on bringing at least a party of 45 (15 individuals to interact with yourself exclusively and two per Gravonian from the remaining 30). To all Gravonians planning on attending: I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU BRUSH UP ON YOUR PORTUGUESE as I am planning on doing immediately upon completion of this post. If MasterShihan attends, I suggest you refrain from engaging him in combat or attempting to surprise him using the methods suggested by Sadistic or any other methods for that matter.
Cheers, Tableplay |

Are you suggesting that weapons be allowed, tableplay? I like your spirit but I think that is going too far. Even the fleet fisted Master Shihan is no match for a baseball bat whistling at 80 miles per hour. No, lets keep the violence clean. Just pick your stratego opponents carefully because you may end up in more than a gameboard conflict. I have seen how tempers flare up over the internet. It is only wise to expect that there will be numerous fisticuffs should we degenerates have a tournament. It is not much different than opening a club in the ghetto. Lets be realistic. Is there really any hope?
The only sensible means of keeping everyone calm is through the use of my supplied females. It is nothing short of amazing, the different temperament a man has when he is jism drained as nature meant him to be. This will certainly help but it is surely not a cure. Expect some pugilistic activity. It is the safest policy going into this tournament. |

Hello Sadistic, in answer to your question, I am not suggesting that weapons be allowed. If fellow Gravonians feel they need to bring weaponry to this shindig then so be it (at the risk of violating ISF bylaws), but I myself am only planning to bring my Stratego set and a suitcase full of prophylactic devices.

Very good choice, tableplay. Your mind is focusing in the correct direction. You are obviously a healthy and virile man, ready to pounce on quality females. I notice that you have a preference for latin females and I am quite impressed. Hell, if I didn't know any better I would think you were a long time Sadistic fan club member, considering your obvious wisdom. You should be proud of yourself in this day and age of rampant homosexuality and confusion. If you ever run into problems feel free to request my intervention. My skills and success in this subject are legendary. I could go on for days, reminiscing of my coital triumphs, to a willing ear. For some reason, some others find my related boasting to be offensive. Imagine that. |

Sadistic sir, thank you for the fine compliments. Las Vegas is a fail safe venue sir, for if I can't manage to impress any of the members of the contingent you are bringing, or if I get behind by more than a colonel against any opponent, I can always abandon the venue (subtracting the appropriate amount from my ranking via a quick e-mail to Spion in the case of the latter outcome) and go to any of the many legalized brothels which pervade this desert oasis . . .
Best Regards to you and my fellow Gravonians

Well written, tableplay. Are you sure you are not a leading member of my fan club, in disguise? If not, have you considered the benefits of joining? We could use impressive folk like yourself. Hell, somebody has to fill the #1 spot of the vacant, ingenious, Dr. - Marius. His position in the Sadistic fan club is open at the moment, since he was sadly banned. Dr. - did not utilize all of the benefits, such as the female referral system. However, I have a hunch that you will not make the same mistake. If not for his high standards of ethics he could have enjoyed the glorious fruits of being a$$ociated with one of the most ardent "babe magnets" to ever grace the earth. Oh geez..........sometimes I get so embarrassed when I boast about myself, but I have to be honest (my personal policy).

You have it covered alright; with extensive CIA surveillance, that is. Commish, if you can deliver frank, I will grant you the companionship of one of my finer female admirer's. Pound for pound that is a hell of a bargain. Do you think you can convince the stumbling, fat old mongrel that he has one good fight left in him? If not, fool him by saying it is just going to be a stratego tournament with only newbies participating. Follow up by stating that, with your CIA privileges, you can sneak him into the tournament to dominate the newbies. He'll show up a day early. |

Hi Sadistic, I am not a leading member of your fan club. I thought the World Sadistic Club (WSC) was defunct, and so I joined Gravon. Even when I was a member of the WSC I was never a leading member. I am glad to see that you are rekindling the WSC. I really enjoyed playing at the club site and discussing various tactics and strategies of Stratego. I suppose that with the emergence of the incredible Gravon site, you have had to attract members with additional benefits such as matchmaking with members of the fairer gender and tips for dating which are excellent benefits indeed.
Have a great weekend sir. |

Hello all.
I have been away and will continue my absence until I take the Bar exam. But I am still interested in the idea of having this tournament/social event. I still think NY or Las Vegas would be the best place to have it. After I finish my exam I am interested in as$isting in the setup and maintenance of the event. I do not want to be the only one doing everything. Depending on the venue will determine how much I will be able to put into it. I think it would be a great thing and hope everyone that is able to, will come.
Also, any suggestions on when we could do this. I was thinking sometime around Christmas time. This is usually when people actually have time off work and school. Let me know. I will occasionally check this forum for updates. After July, my stress and workload will be diminished considerably; so until then, if anyone wants to contact me email me at ultimate_vinculum@yahoo.com. |

Hi esquire! Good luck with the exam!!! I'm not sure I can travel to Vegas, but I might be able to do NY if my schedule is free at the time we decide to play. Keep me posted.
Thanks,
