After three Saturdays of play its time to give a small summary. Delighted news that already 18 players participated from a lot of different countries! And everyone is still welcome to join of course, the more the merrier!

Beastly123 went off as a Rocket in the competition and took the first place which he still holds, now accompanied by The Rubenator since week 3. Swordfish is still on the 3th place keeping an eye on his competitors in front of him. This week another player joined the competition, Mercury had a good start and joins the crew.

On the Collection part which can give a lot of bonuspoints at the end Grizzlybear was hungry for games this week and added 4 players to his list. Beastly still has the best collection despite the fact that he only added one this week. Swordfish is closing in the gap. Zach is steady following the 2 and Sefirot had a good week for his collection too!

After week 4 we have a new leader.: Swordfish, who had a good day. After 3 weeks of reigning the competition Beastly123 fell to place 2 with Zach21 breathing in his neck.

Last week I forgot to add Camilla to the list who played two weeks. This mistake has been corrected and Camilla is in the list now at the same height as World Champion Playa1. This week Roy and piff2507 joined the competition which makes the number of participants as high as 21!

Who will join next week and what will happen? Stay tuned!

Week 5 was a sad week. the news came of Gentleben passing away see: https://forum.gravon.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3111 and http://forum.stratego.com/topic/361379-passing-away-of-player-constrictor/. The competition was a bit dull this week with just a few players grabbing some points. Zach21 got the lead of the competition for the first time, followed by Beastly who kept place 2. Ruben got to 3th place where Swordfish fell from 1 to 4. In the middle Garulfo and Grizzlybear got some points and Robna is increasing slowly but soundly.

There are now 5 weeks left to play. As you can see here: https://forum.gravon.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3110 Four competion days under normal rules and the last competition day will be a special one with a lot more points to collect and more games to play. This is because the MSO will be played that day, and this is a special opportunity to join this great British event. To play you need to register at the MSO website provided by Ace: https://msoworld.com...-registrations/

On the last day of the competition (29 august) the MSO will be played from 14:30gmt-21:30 gmt. Hence Ace and I have agreed to combine our two events. This means that competing for the MSO will get you points for the Competition and a lot more than on the other days as there will be 6 (or even 7) rounds to play following Swiss System. It is yet not certain if the MSO games will be played ranked or unranked, whichever will be chosen, the games will be counted for the Competition. The other rules of the competition will be the same. You need to register at the link above to compete for the MSO. If you dont have time to play the tournament you can also play for the competition under original rules, up to the number of games which will be played at the MSO. However, there might be less players available, as most will likely play at the MSO. The other way round, if you want to play MSO but not the competition, then let me know and I will not put your name and gained points in the competition standing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We already are in for the last thrilling week of the captivating competition! And a record number of 41 participants joined this captivating competition! Some more may join in the final round coming saturday. This day, 29th of august is the last chance to win points for the competition. Many points are at stake in this spectacular final round!

Saturday at 14:30GMT the MSO will start (Friday evening is a Duel tournament). Probably a lot of new players of this competition (and gravon in general) will join. You need to register for this event, how to do this is described in this thread: https://forum.gravon.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3110&sid=0b94bb0c31bf08cff615953cb0ddd1b8 . Players that wont play the MSO could still play an equal amount of games (at least 6) to count for the competition. However they need to follow the original rule (so games should be ranked, within the timeframe and against different opponents).

In the meantime we had some exciting games on MSO and some new participants that went as a Rocket in the standings. In week 6,7 and 8 The conditioner went from the darkness to the 7th place in the standings. Fonias joined his record of 14 points in week 7. The next week, week 8 Theworldmaster got 18 points in one evening on his debut! With that he holds the record for most points in one round of the competition! If he didnt do it Akaboom would have the record. On also his debut he got an impressive 16 points. Mh181 did the same in week 9. These are just a few of the new players. Blacksheep worked quickly on his collection and is currently on the 6th spot in the Collection part. Also a lot of Greek players joined the competition the last weeks! Good old Henry is still in the Greek lead with 22 points, one more as Fonias.

Last but not least: Zach picked up the lead of the competition in week 5 and held off several attacks of Beastly123 the last weeks and a great attempt of Swordfish in the last week who now is leading the collection standing. Virtually Zach is also leading the captivating competition, followed by Swordfish, Beastly and Ruben. It looks like the 4 of them will decide saturday who will be crowned the Captivating Competition King!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Informationen dazu finden Sie in diesem Thread: https://forum.gravon.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3110&sid=0b94bb0c31bf08cff615953cb0ddd1b8.

The Captivating Competition has come to an end. In a spectacular last day, with central the MSO Tournament a lot of matches were played, a lost of players were involved including some new ones from Italy, Spain, England and Greece omong others. Germany, Zwitserland, South Africa, The Netherlands, Belgium, United States and Austria have played in this globabl competition. A Record number of 53 participants took part in the end.

The winner of the competition is Zach21 from New York City, US! Many congratulations to him. Zach was the most fanatic allround player and didn't miss any competition day. He truly deserved to win this tournament. On the second place is Swordfish, who came just 5 points short despite his crazy tactics on the last competition day. He missed just one week of the competition and in the end one could say that this was crucial. On third place we have Ruben87 who won the MSO and with that could manage to get the most points that day. Beastly is the biggest victim of this. Despite his great collection (just 1 less than Swordfish) he dropped from 2nd to 4th place on the last day. He played a very good competition though and 4th out of 53 is something very good! Beastly just like Zach and Ruben played every round of the competition. Then on the 5th place we have Iljoesjin, a new name for Gravon but a very famous Stratego player Live. The five of them were by far the most competitive players in the Competition! Congratiolations guys!

Special mentions goes to Swordfish for having the biggest collection, Theworldmaster for having the most point in a single competition day (excluding the last day) and of course to all players that participated! I hope you have enjoyed it and I hope to see you on the battlefield!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Herzlichen Glückwunsch an ihn.
