With regret I have to inform you that last Sunday (7th. Dez.) Norman Koks has passed away.
He was playing Stratego in Breda only a week ago! We all know about his heart problems, but he was feeling fine last month.
Norman was well known in the Stratego world, he played a lot of tourneys also in Germany. I had long talks with him about Music, we prefer the same bands and concerts. He wa not an online player, but a well and truly stratego maniac.
His younger brother posted the sad message at his facebook acount. More details are not known.
We will miss Norman, a really nice and great guy.

Im very shocked to hear this. Norman had a bad year physically but I had the impression he was getting better and he played last week a stratego tournament after skipping some for a couple of months. I hate it I wasnt there last week. He finished 3th place there!
Norman was a very nice guy indeed. He had many friends in the Stratego community. Not only in Holland but also in Germany and England. He was a very social guy. At the board he was very sportive.
Way too young...

Norman will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
I was shocked and saddened to hear the news.
He was a friend, a great stratego warrior and a true gentleman.
Deepest sympathy going out to his family and friends at this time.
RIP Norman!

Very sad news.
Norman was an example in many ways, how people can be understanding and friendly.
He will be missed.
May he rest in peace.

There were beautiful flowers for Norman from German and Holland stratego associations. |

Its a sad stratego year. Rene Helmus also passed away months ago in may. I dont know if many players here know him but I think its important to tell.
I didnt know Rene good but good enough to tell he was a nice guy and sportive player. He played for at least 13 years according to kleier.net. He played many tounaments and wcs and finished 2nd 2 times! He played his last tournament at the Dutch championsships 2013. |
